     His Song
                           Gifted and giving -
                           needed by its Creator
                        For sharing His life and love;
                              His Song.

                              Its emptiness - always
                                the capacity to be made new -
                          Echoing the silent harmony of God;
                              His Song.

                                To be hollowed - ready - open;
                         The Father's Flute shaping the emptiness
                       For sharing H     is word;
                                His Song.


Its emptiness shaped
   By the tender touch
   Of its Father's hand, for
      His Song.

Lifeless - loveless -
   Then filled to capacity;
   Accepting the breath of God;
      His Song.
    Fashioned - nourished -
                             Cared for - caressed -
                          Channeling His word in melody;
                         His Song.

                         Through heart valves
                        Opening, closing, regulating -
                       Producing intricately and mysteriously;
                              His Song.

                          


Sr. Bernadette Mary has spent years in education, administration and congregational leadership. She is currently secretary of St. Elizabeth Mission Society and is organist for the Motherhouse Eucharistic Liturgies.
